Happy brand New Year to you…

Hi guys! Hope you’ve had a great New Year and that you have made some ‘new wishes’ and set some new goals for this year?…

It’s all about moving forward, however slow or fast that might be. For anyone who’s been reading this blog/website and that have been following my posts you’ll surely know that I have been ‘playing’ around with a little Market Shop, and here’s really a BIG tip of mine; GROW with your CUSTOMERS.

Don’t spend loads of money on signs, business cards, stock or collections until you’ve found your customers or frankly speaking, they’ve found you. It’s worth trying small lots and styles out and as the demand and customer base grows, you’ll grow with it. I’ve experienced just that and I’m sort of in a cross-road where I have to take that very nervous leap forward but I know I have a demand for the garments, I’ve explored and experimented with different mark-ups and price levels to found the magic one where things actually move to starting to invest in shop decor and labels and now very recently some more stock. Exciting times!

But as with any New Year it comes with a promise of a brand new 12 months ahead and a time to erase those mistakes made and replace them with a winning attitude.  I want you, fellow entrepreneur and designer to take that step forward, small or big and start testing your pieces on the market. Remember to be willing to change and correct the garments as you go, don’t get stuck in a hole watching customers wrinkle their noses, ‘ask them why their doing it’ instead. Learn from it and grow stronger by it…

Well that’s my ten cents for the day:-)…Foremost, thanks for the past 2012 and for sharing it with me, whether it’s by reading my posts, commenting or finding some source of inspiration, or it’s by reading my E-book and joining the forum, no matter what step you’ve taken make sure it’s forward and (of course fun if you choose to do it along with me too)…

Happy Brand New Year! xxx Alice, the shop is officially open:-)
